Cork Harbour Festival

Cork Harbour is the second largest natural harbour in the world and during the first week of June it is home to the Cork Harbour Festival.
Ireland’s leading rowing event ‘Ocean to City – An Rás Mór’ (the Big Race) is the flagship event of the festival and attracts hundreds of particiapnts from all over the world competing in everything from traditional wooden boats, currachs, gigs and longboats to Chinese dragon boats, kayaks and canoes. The race can be viewed from the many vantage points along the harbour
The festival celebrates Cork Harbour as a natural and cultural resource, with the communities and their stories at the heart of it. There are many events and activities organised for all the family to attend including a guided ghostly trail, a sail in the harbour or go for a kayak and discover Cork City from a different perspective.
So if you’re looking for a magical maritime week – being only a 1.5 Hr drive from Lisheen Castle – Cork is the place to head for the first week in June!
