Cork Midsummer Festival
This mutil-disciplinary arts festival has been taking place annually in Cork City since 2008. There are many high-quality arts events taking place over the two weeks of midsummer and are suitable for audiences of all ages.
The festival’s programme supports the development of emerging artists from a large variety of artforms, both national and international. It also gives plenty of opportunity for public participation and a chance for all to have fun.
It will be worth making a day trip from Lisheen Castle to Cork City for the performances including:
- The Small Things, a play by Enda Walsh starring Peter Gowen and Pauline McLynn running from 14-29 June at the Old Waterworks, Lee Road
- La Cocina Publica/ The Public Kitchen, 17-21 June; a shipping container that is a mobile kitchen combing theatre and food
- The Cork Proms at the Cork Opera House on 21-23 June.
