Project Description
Restaurant and Dining Options
Although many others have since followed suit, the idea of opening a restaurant in a church was highly original when Hans-Peter Matthia did so in 1968. The scale – indeed the whole style of the Chez Hans – is superb and provides an unusual and atmospheric setting for the seriously fine food which people travel great distances to sample.
Café Hans: Hans-Peter’s son, Jason returned from working in some of London’s finest kitchens joined his father in the business in 1998 to open the less formal bistro style Café Hans. Jason brought renewed energy to Café Hans and Chez Hans, confirming the status of both eateries among the leading restaurants in Munster.
Mikey Ryan’s Bar & Kitchen is a distinctly Irish gastropub with a cooking from scratch ethos in our restaurant and a focus on local, seasonal ingredients of high quality, organic wherever possible.
Working directly with local farmers and artisan producers, Mikey Ryan’s offers its local and visiting guests a true ‘Taste of Tipperary’. Expect food that conjures up feelings of home, nostalgia and comfort but that bit more delicious. It’s not such a long way to Tipperary after all…
You will find a delicious range of dishes available at Mikey’s for Brunch, Lunch or Dinner, all of which can be enjoyed in our spacious modern restaurant, private rooms or in our Garden to the rear of the building.
