Siul Eile – Community Organised Rural Walks in Tipperary
If you like exploring local areas and walking trails, love going off the beaten track and meeting similarly minded people, then Siul Eile is a great option for you.
Translated as ‘Another Walk’, Siul Eile build walking programs using quiet country roads, forest paths, tracks and trails throughout County Tipperary. The initiative is in its third year now and has expanded from one walk to seven locations throughout the county. The programs and challenges are devised by rural communities using the under-utilised local environment and beautiful scenery in their own areas.
The aims of Siul Eile are to increase people’s activity levels and also provide socialising opportunities, particularly for people who may not have other avenues to do so.
It can also be a great way for visitors to learn local history and heritage information – what better way to learn than directly from the locals?
