Adare, a designated Heritage Town, is one of the prettiest and friendliest villages in Ireland. It was founded in the 13th Century on the river Maigue.
Our second Irish Heritage Town to visit is a 1 hour 20 minute drive from Lisheen Castle. Although it is listed as a designated heritage town, Adare is still referred to as a village, which just reinforces the quaint character and charm of this must visit location.
The village itself was first established in medieval times near to Desmond Castle which was built in the 13th century, however the current architecture of the main street is largely from the early 19th century thanks to the Dunraven family. Leading up to the construction of the Gothic Adare Manor in 1831.

Adare Heritage Centre is open 7 days a week from 9am-6pm.
